Yang Banhou was the senior surviving son of the founder of [[YangStyleTaiChi Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan]] [[YangLuchan Yang Luchan]]. Like his father, he was retained as a martial arts instructor by the Chinese Imperial family. Yang Pan-hou's younger brother [[YangChienhou Yang Chien-hou]] was a well known teacher of [[YangStyleTaiChi Yang-style t'ai chi ch'uan]] as well. Yang Pan-hou's son, [[YangShaopeng Yang Shao-p'eng]] was also a t'ai chi teacher.
